Erzurum Museum of Painting and Sculpture
Erzurum Museum of Painting and Sculpture

From a madrasa to a museum — today, its walls speak the language of the brush…
The Erzurum Museum and Gallery of Painting and Sculpture is a unique art venue housed in a historic Ottoman-era building, blending tradition with contemporary creativity.
Restored with great care while preserving its original stone architecture, the building hosts exhibitions of painting, sculpture, ceramics, and traditional arts, featuring works by both local and national artists.
It offers an inspiring gallery experience that unites culture and art within a historical atmosphere.
The museum is located in a former Ottoman madrasa built in the 18th century.
Restored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, it was opened in 2011 as the Erzurum Museum of Painting and Sculpture.
The courtyard-centered structure allows each room to tell a different artistic story, while temporary exhibitions and workshops turn it into a living cultural hub.
After exploring the exhibitions, take a short break in the courtyard.
Surrounded by ancient stone walls, spending a quiet moment with art here transforms the museum from a gallery into a sanctuary for the soul.
After your visit, a short walk will take you to nearby cultural landmarks such as the Yakutiye Madrasa or the Erzurum Congress Building.
