History and Significance
Karain Cave holds great importance as an area that bears traces of human life during the Paleolithic era. Excavations carried out in 1946 revealed stone tools, bone fragments, and animal fossils, shedding light on how the region served as a habitat in prehistoric times. The cave is also recorded as one of the oldest sites in Turkey where human traces have been found.
