Museum entrance ticket for Maiden’s Tower

A lonely tower in the middle of the sea… Yet every wave whispers a story.
The Maiden’s Tower (Kız Kulesi) stands off the coast of Üsküdar in Istanbul, on a small islet in the middle of the Bosphorus, and is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
Throughout the centuries, it has served as a watchtower, lighthouse, quarantine station, and finally, a cultural symbol.
With its breathtaking view and legendary tales, it offers visitors a truly unique experience.
The tower’s history dates back to antiquity, around the 5th century BC.
During the Byzantine period, it was used to control sea traffic; in the Ottoman era, it was rebuilt several times with various functions.
Its most famous legend tells of a king who confined his daughter here to protect her from a snake bite—only for fate to find her nonetheless.
After an extensive restoration between 2021 and 2023, the tower reopened as both an exhibition space and a viewing point.
