What makes an ancient city unique? As an important harbor city of the Lycian League, Olympos was founded in the 2nd century BC. It suffered pirate attacks and was rebuilt under Roman rule. Remains of baths, an agora, a necropolis, and a theater are still visible. Its deep connection with nature is the most distinctive feature separating Olympos from classical ancient cities. Together with the nearby Yanartaş (Chimera), it also holds a strong link to mythology.
