Troy Museum
Troy Museum

The Trojan Horse may be a legend — but the relics in this museum are very real…
The Troy Museum is a world-class contemporary museum that showcases the tangible traces of the legendary city of Troy described in Homer’s epics.
Artifacts such as ceramics, weapons, jewelry, and skeletal remains unearthed during excavations take visitors on a journey deep into time.
Its four-story structure presents an impressive storytelling experience that begins below ground level.
Opened in 2018, the Troy Museum stands only 750 meters from the ancient city of Troy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Its collection includes artifacts from all nine archaeological layers of Troy, as well as finds from nearby settlements and burial mounds.
Architecturally, the museum itself is striking — embedded into the earth, symbolizing the layered history of Troy.
Viofun’s Recommendation:
Before heading to the ancient city, take a moment to visit the museum terrace.
From the highest point of a story that begins beneath the ground, look out across the landscape where the legend was born.
Then, walk to the ancient site itself — and trace the footsteps of myth with your own.
