Demet Akalın was born on April 23, 1972, in Gölcük, Kocaeli. She began her career as a model and appeared in various television and film projects throughout the 1990s. Later, she transitioned into the music industry, releasing her debut album Sebebim in 1996. Her major breakthrough came in 2004 with the album Banane, which brought her widespread popularity and made her one of the most listened-to artists in Turkish pop music.
